Platform :
Slope 2000 and PLATE is available for Windows platform at present (Dos mode also for SLOPE 2000)
and Linux version may
be produced if necessary. Porting to other platform may be considered if necessary.
PLATE is a thin and thick plate analysis program which is very similar to SAFE by CSI
but is more powerful (and more accurate) than it. Boundary conditions can be applied easily. Prescribed
boundary conditions can be defined. Multiple load case is accepted. Pile group interaction
analysis by ring shear theory (Randolph's theory) is included for coupled analysis.
Contour for individual load case, load combination or envelope of all load
combinations can be displayed.

last updated: 6/4/2009
6/4/2009: Graphics display for a special case is OK now. User guide is updated.
27/3/2009: More option added for tension crack
2/1/2009: To use the extremum method in SLOPE 2000, please consult the author for advice.
8/4/2008: Upper and lower bound to search is added. Bond load to soil nail based on failure zone added. Display of trial failure surfaces within specified FOS range is available. Plotting of internal forces and based forces added. Optimization search for tension crack location is added.
19/9/2007: Corrected some minor interface bug.
26/7/2007: SLOPE 2000 2.3 is released. Extremum principle is added. Minor bugs are fixed. The soft band option is very stable now and pass through very difficult problems without manual adjustment.
9/2/2007: SLOPE 2000 2.2 is basically finished. Extremum principle is added.
13/10/2006: Sensitivity analysis for SLOPE 2000 is added. For prescribed failure surface, multiple solutions to several methods of analyses are given
23/8/2006: A major update to SLOPE 2000 is released. 2.0 can consider ponded water, pore pressure contour from finite element analysis. Most importantly, the China load factor method and the China earthquake code for dam are now included. Chinese SLOPE 2000 is also the most popular download program for slope stability in China. See http://www.slope.cn/bbs/plugin.php?identifier=download&module=download&acti=softlist&sort=59&seclist=1 for the information about the Chinese SLOPE 2000
30/3/2006: Some minor bugs with tension crack are fixed for version 1.8.
28/3/2006 : BD approval number for SLOPE 2000 1.7 is G0135.
18/3/2006 : SLOPE 2000 1.8 Chinese simplified version is available now.
1/3/2006 : Link to the paper on bearing capacity is corrected.
8/2/2006 : A bug for downhill slope which is recently introduced is found and fixed.
9/12/2005 : No bug has been reported for SLOPE 2000 1.7 for a long time. Version 1.8 is now ready with new features : tension crack, material parameters changing with depth - varies linearly with depth or between contour lines, forbidden region during location of critical failrue surface. Forbidden region can modelled boulder, sheet pile wall, structures.
25/8/2005 : The author has developed the first true 3D slope stability analysis program. This program is the first program and the unique program in the world where automatic location of non-spherical failure surface is possible. Soil nails, vertical/horizontal distributed as well as point loads are included. Earthquake load can be specified. Brief introduction about SLOPE 3D is now included in chapter 3 of the user guide of SLOPE 2000. SLOPE 3D is completely different from SLOPE 2000. 3D viewing of ground profile, soil nails are possible and section view of the failure surface at arbitrary section is also allowed. Autocad file is generated. For information about SLOPE 3D, please contact the author.
10/6/2005 : A minor bug for prescribed non-circular failure surface where user specify line of thrust ratio in Janbu's rigorous analysis. The new Janbu's rigorous method is used instead of the default classical Janbu's rigorous method. This small mistake is fixed.
11/5/2005 : A minor bug for Davis method bond load calculation is corrected.
29/4/2005 : A bug for GLE method under optimization analysis is found and solved. Appendix G is updated.
14/3/2005 : Improvements to the interface of PLATE.
27/1/2005 : More examples are added to the User guide of SLOPE 2000.
30/11/2004 : Swedish and Fellenius methods are added but user guide is not updated for SLOPE 2000. Spencer's method does not disappear in the latest version but is available as a special case of Morgenstern-Price's method
18/11/2004 : Updated user guide for SLOPE 2000. Demo for simplified chinese SLOPE 2000 is ready for testing
1/11/2004 : Comparisons with GeoStudio 2004 (SLOPE/W 6.0) are included. Results between GeoStudio 2004 and SLOPE 2000 are very close. Results from SLOPE 2000 are closer to GeoStudio 2004 than those form SLOPE/W version 5. Mouse draw action to line fixed with displacement and specify section are improved for PLATE.
