Invited Topics

• All aspects of earthquake engineering for regions of moderate seismicity, such as: seismic hazard and risk analysis for existing buildings and infrastructures, estimation of design response spectrum, issue of buildings with transfer system, soil-pile-structure interaction, pounding between adjacent buildings, micro-zonation, topographical and basin effects,  upgrading and retrofitting of existing non-seismic-design buildings, seismic code for region of moderate seismicity.

• Experiences from regions of strong seismicity and their implications to regions of moderate seismicity. Potential topics may include, but not restricted to: damages in recent earthquakes, seismic analysis and design, strong ground motion, dynamic properties and response of soil, soil-structure interaction, lifeline system, seismic risk mitigation, information network and sensor technologies for seismic mitigation, structural control and smart structures, tsunami hazard.
